Workforce Transformation

Susie Freedman is a dedicated professional with twenty-five years’ higher education experience in program development and management across apprenticeship, workforce development and landscape analysis. Her work in skills acquisition and job/career opportunities for women, veterans, their spouses, and often overlooked populations includes training modalities from pre-apprenticeship, apprenticeship, to non-degree credential programs, continuing education and community college workforce training.

At NLET and with clients, she identifies key regional stakeholders including workforce boards, apprenticeship and pre-apprenticeship programs, economic development organizations, Chambers of Commerce, employer sector associations and employers for education-to-employment ecosystem analysis.

Employer understanding and acceptance of non-traditional, non-degree certifications and KSAs via apprenticeships and other training opportunities is also a primary focus. Recent work includes project manager and information design strategist for WISE Career Pathways, a career and training awareness portal for women in fields where they are critically underrepresented, part of a U.S. Department of Labor Scaling Apprenticeship grant awarded to Lorain County Community College.
