Maria Johanna Posey is the founder and CEO of Viking Impact Advisors, a social consulting firm dedicated to strengthening workforce development systems, expanding economic mobility, and improving public services through strategic planning, performance management, and innovative funding approaches. She specializes in workforce policy, particularly the Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA), and has deep expertise helping workforce development boards optimize impact for their customers. Maria leverages data, technology, and collective impact structures to align workforce systems with economic development, education, and human services, create integrated, people-centered solutions, and improve performance.

Across the country, Maria has collaborated with workforce boards, local and state governments, philanthropy, and national organizations to design high-impact strategies that improve service delivery and outcomes for job seekers and businesses. She has led workforce transformation initiatives, developed innovative contracting models, and advised on best practices for engaging different communities and population groups.

Maria holds an M.A. in Peace and Conflict Research from Uppsala University and a B.A. in International Relations from Wellesley College. Prior to founding Viking Impact Advisors, she held leadership roles at various international and national social impact organizations. She is a frequent speaker and trainer on workforce policy, strategic planning, and systems change.

Originally from Sweden, Maria now lives in Northern Virginia with her husband and three children.
