John Engen

John is responsible for the leadership, management, and strategic direction of the organization. He became the CEO of the New Mexico Consortium in 2023 after spending over 25 years studying proteins with mass spectrometry. Most of his career was spent at Northeastern University in Boston where he rose to become a Distinguished Professor and the James L. Waters Endowed Chair in Analytical Chemistry.
Dr. Engen has a Ph.D. in Chemistry and B.S. degrees in Molecular Biology and Biochemistry. He was a postdoctoral fellow at Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL) and an Assistant Professor of Chemistry at The University of New Mexico.
