JACOB MARGOLIS

K12 STEM

Jake Margolis is a passionate education leader with experience as a science teacher, department chair, developer, and researcher. He has taught AP Physics, AP Environmental Science, Chemistry, Astronomy, and General Science. In addition to his time in the classroom, he has worked with LabXchange to develop a scientific literacy module and with the Learning, Innovation, and Technology lab as a real-time bio-feedback researcher. He continues to work as a consultant for other educational organizations. He graduated from Pennsylvania State University with a bachelor’s in Secondary Education and recently received his Ed.M from Harvard’s Graduate School of Education. His studies focused on personalization, neuroscience, and outreach in education.

Jake is driven by his commitment to spreading curiosity, creating a scientifically literate populace, and improving educational ecosystems for students and staff. His work with NLET revolves around the dissemination of free tailored science content.

DANIELLE SAUNDERS

Data Science

Danielle Saunders is a data scientist in education and workforce development aiming to promote 21st century skills. Bringing in new analytics, she authored most of the evaluation of the CSU’s systemwide Course Redesign with Technology program. She co-founded Eclasstic, a learning management system offering supplementary communications courses for international students such as those at UC Davis. She has a degree in entrepreneurship, completed the Galvanize Data Science Immersive, wrote for EdSurge Independent, and is creating a machine learning model that suggests actions to career-seekers based on their desired occupation and U.S. Census data. She draws inspiration from comparing the educational systems she has attended: public, private, IB, charter, home, boarding, foreign, bootcamp, and un-schools. She is most proud of teaching others and applying the science of learning. She looks forward to bringing organizations together to create efficient, analyzed pathways to work which capitalize on student and teacher agency.

Climate Change & Environment

Experienced start-up founder, operations executive, and community organizer. Instructor for entrepreneurship and start-up business consultant. Co-founded two technology and education companies focused on education and social impact. Background in equity-based online education distribution and outreach in California, as part of the University of California, and in India and Africa through California-based social impact start-up. International business experience, with a focus on bettering the world for all through entrepreneurship, environment and outreach. Strong passion for climate change education, outreach and sustainability solutions. Avid outdoor enthusiast.
